You can email your completed Volunteer Application to mcromleigh@malachihouse.org
The application process will include:
- an interview/tour
- two references
- a TB test
- a criminal background check
- a drug screening test
- attending an orientation class prior to the start of any assignment
(Volunteers under 18 years of age will be required to provide one reference, and there is no TB test, drug screening test, or criminal background check requirement)



Available Opportunities
Receptionist
Answering phones, paging staff, transferring calls.
Answering the door and greeting visitors and hospice staff.
Kitchen
Cooking, baking, meal prep. Setting the dining room table. Setting up resident meal trays and/or serving residents at the dining room table. Kitchen clean-up following meals.
House Cleaning
Sweeping and mopping all areas of the House, including resident rooms and bathrooms. Trash collection. Disinfecting surfaces. Vacuuming. Window and/or window blind cleaning.
Eucharistic Ministers
Offering communion to our residents.
Project Volunteers
Mailings.
Special Event assistance.
Laundry folding.
Group Project Volunteers
Project(s) will be determined based on House needs at the time of the assignment.
Pantry Organization
Managing donations, including dating food items, rotating stock, and removing
expired items.
Washing pantry shelves.
Vigil Volunteer
Vigil volunteers may be asked to sit with actively-dying or restless residents. Volunteers must have at least six months' experience in another Malachi House volunteer capacity before being eligible to be trained as a Vigil volunteer.
Outdoor Maintenance
Weeding, trash clean-up, garden watering, bird feeding.
